Its in the ways of the Wicca of the 50's, 60's and 70's where I see that art's grace, in the hands of those born into it in those times, and in the linking chains that occur from their connected circles of entrace and training, with the power and potentials thereof, not in the "I picked up this book at Borders" Wicca practitioners of the New Age solitary. They have their own potentials, but in absence of the fire, these potentials often remain latent to view from what I've seen.
You have to use common sense. I don't go looking for trouble and don't just
randomly call on names in texts. I call on those I've developed relationships
with in my entourage that walk and talk with me and show me themselves in my
dreams. These connections where passed to me through rituals with others who
where connected to these beings already. And I connect with some new ones from
time to time when they seek me. If I wish to work with one who hasn't found me
yet, I have a network of others in the magical world. One of them would
introduce me to the being I want to know, but at a price. This is what its like
in the linking chains. You are never alone. You have others seen and unseen on
your side. And as long as the chores connection are kept up from time to time,
these bonds continue and they help you with your day to day wishes and desires,
as well as those of the friends and family around you. Its really a beautiful
I was feeling bad that I had to go catch my kitty when the vet came. She was
running away scared to hide...The emotions are harsh, but I know its for the
best. She was getting worse and worse.
What really got me was when in that
moment her heart stopped, my hands turned on breath of life energy in attempt to
right the balance, so I jumped back and felt this awe in the room above. Then I
picked her body up and my solar plexus felt... nothing of
her there. Normally we are quite attached and she sleeps resting against my
solar plexus every night. Now, some part of me is also travelling where she is
and it makes me feel quite empty in the present. Although I walked to her grave
today and the ground literally jumped up to meet me there, there was so much
presence. Seems like we've created a meeting place there, or was it just me
recognizing whatever cellular life is still draining from her body. I was only
there for a minute. I will know when I am there next.
I am mostly really grateful for
the gift of witnessing her death. I learned so much from that moment by moment
interaction, as painful as it was. Yes, I saw a chicken get its head cut off and
run around as a child and have squished my fair share of bugs, but seeing the
breath of life leave a body so up close. I will never forget it. Much better
than just seeing the dead bodies after the fact.
Directing, recieving, percepting, decieving, many a craft the witch can make, but the art grows a gift to create. Create from the trails of lessons past, create from the bridges meant to last, create an edge of the new, attached to the old filling new, in what you see around you. But this is a lesson for advanced beginnings, the root informs the creation's continuings. When you step into that magic stream, reading and informed by nature's dream, your creating is in the wills at hand, not a mental abstract plan, but a progression of the work at hand.
Step on in the magic and the root will tell you what to do next.
The witch of earth has a dragon on her side, she has access to info that others try to hide, the patterns of magic are in her keeping, and she finds a broom is only for dirt sweeping.
A witch of water knows the hearts of others, she must balance with fire so she doesn't feel smothered, she anoints to the one's who give her rights to be, and finds they circle around her most naturally.
The witch of fire is more visible than most, she inhabits the space where power does roost, heat is on her body to share, but to gain all this, she must dare, to burst through the shell of properness being, and see what desires fiercely need releasing.
A witch of air is hidden sometimes, she watches the goings on from behind the lines, seeing vision and ghost and psychic skill repeating, she then looks you in the eye and her will in you is heeded.
It hasn't been until I started working with a dragon that I am willing to explore other's designs (in the realms of spiritual groups, metaphysical, pagans etc). The dragon shows me the truth of any situation by the energy and power involved in the moment. But that has taken many years for me to be able to become a pillar myself, so I can intermingle with anyone else without losing myself on their turf, in their designs, even at church. This is why I am free to accept working with others, helping with their work when I see value in their designs or value in a person as a friend. Its different on my turf. They must ask and then there are the oaths...
The powers have high standards for the witches I guide, and the witches I guide have high standards for themselves. I am friendly and kind, but will not give away easily what has to be earned through dedication to those forces we work with. As it was with me, so shall it be the standards for the witches to come.
